If you have a love of drawing boxes and enjoy games like Xonix, then you'll be interested to know that you can now do so on the bus thanks to Erix. The game comes built-in on certain Ericssons, but this version allows you to enjoy it on different devices in Java format.
The basic purpose of the game is to draw boxes on a screen using the number keys. Sounds simple, right? Wrong, because while you're doing this, a computer opponent is randomly moving around the board and if he crosses your path then you lose a life.
Once you've drawn your box, that area of the screen is wiped away and you must draw again in an even smaller area, which is where things start to get a bit tricky. That said, the first few levels of the game are quite easy so you get plenty of time to get accustomed to the controls and movements of Erix.
The game gets pretty challenging after that, but it's addictive enough to keep you engaged for some time even if the gameplay is slightly repetitive. There's also a high scores board included in the game, to keep you coming back for more or to take on your pals.
All in all, it's a simple, yet challenging puzzle game to pass those long bus journeys.
